The new Arkas Holding Headquarters in Alsancak, which was opened in 2002, has the distinction of being the 'smartest' building not only in Izmir but the entire Aegean Region. A wonder of technology in which the finest details have been given meticulous consideration, the building houses approximately 500 Arkas employees.

It consists of three tower blocks comprising 13,500 square meters and sits on a 2,368 m2 plot of land.

The front-facing block contains 10 floors, not including the staff and visitor parking lot, while the rear block contains nine floors, in additon to the basement and computer floor, which houses 'smart' systems that control the entire building.

The 11-storey central block connects the other two blocks via bridges and was designed as an entirely steel construction.

The building has nine elevators in total, as well as two vehicle elevators.

The office is steel construction built on 570 prefabricated concrete uprights, driven 30 meters below ground.

The cladding on the facade was designed in accordance with Izmir's climatic conditions and can handle temperature swings from -5 to 50 degrees centigrade.

The structural support system takes the form of a light construction made up of horizontal steel girders and perpendicular stainless steel hawsers.

The see-through materials used on the exterior give the building a transparent appearance.

The exterior is cleaned using vertical and horizontal mobile platformsconnected to a rail system mounted on the roof.

For heating, cooling and air-conditioning an energy-saving VRV system has been installed, which allows independent control of every area of the building

The building, includes a 1600 KVA transformer, is powered by two 717 KVA generators and two 300 KVA UPS units.
